Calgary Fall Interior Fashion 2018 Forecast by Monique Shaw
As we say goodbye to summer in Calgary and move into the moodier, quieter time of fall, we tend to think about changing up our interiors and begin hunkering down, looking forward to warm drinks, hot fires and layering up against the approaching cold ahead. As we all know, Calgary weather can change in hours, so preparing for the changing season ahead means setting up our home for cosiness and beauty to ease into a gorgeous Calgary autumn.
Now is a great time to explore what new trends are coming to our city this fall. Here are some of the best trends we have been seeing for Calgary home interior design in 2018:
JEWEL TONES
Rich, opulent and decadent shades of ruby, emerald and sapphire abound. Try mixing up these different shades with vibrant patterns. Now is the time to cast off those prairie hues of monochrome, and mix it up, bringing a fresh breath of air and glamour to your home. Think the sky before nightfall, deep glossy leaf tones and lipstick red. These colours are meant to enliven a room and add a striking look to a home.
VELVET
Velvets have always had a sumptuous, royal feel to them. Sinking into this fabric is guaranteed to feel luxurious and dramatic against your skin and have you enjoying the feeling of it when you caress it. It is a warm, dramatic fabric guaranteed to give your room a lovely posh feel in any area.
OVERSIZED WALLPAPER
Big, bold wallpaper is back, and smoky, soot colored backgrounds and oversized gorgeous florals are here to stay. Perfect for a nursery or glam-girl office, it is both striking and confident.
This season’s colours and textures shine like precious gems, begging you to touch, linger and be impressed. It is time to liven up those neutral shades and bring noticeable beauty and colour back into the room. There is no denying it–unapologetic glamour is back with a roar.
